SCHOOLS
District: Forsyth County School
Welcome to Forsyth County Schools, one of the most acclaimed public school systems in Georgia and the nation!
Nestled between the foothills of the North Georgia Mountains and along the shores of beautiful Lake Lanier, Forsyth County is one of the most sought after residential areas in the nation. For the past several years, our county has been among the top five fastest growing counties in the United States, and much of this growth has been attributed to the success of FCS. Over the course of the past several years, FCS has received numerous honors and awards including Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards from the Governor's Office; Georgia Schools of Excellence; National Blue Ribbon Schools; national technology awards; state and national teacher and principal honors; and many others.
In 2008-2009, FCS will welcome over 32,000 students in 30 schools - an increase of more than 1,000 students from the 2007-2008 year. In 2008-09, we will open five new schools: Lambert High, Lakeside Middle, Haw Creek Elementary, Whitlow Elementary and Brookwood Elementary.
